Wild Grass

Wild Grass Resort - the old lady of Kaziranga, is past its prime - and over priced.. Successive monsoons have taken their toll. The ageing infrastructure is in need of rejuvination. However it still provides comfortable living in two jungle lodges with 18 guest rooms There are 40 species of trees, and 200 species of shrubs, creepers and climbers on the grounds. On occassion folk dances are arranged.

Recent visitors have reported a declining service, with experienced manager and staff migrating elswhere. The better birding guides are no longer available. Also there have been instances of bookings being arbitrarily cancelled and lack of reliability in providing promised elephant rides. Birders going to Wild grass and looking

for a memorable birding experience should persuade Mann Barua to personally guide them. Airport to resort transfers are arranged - but are expensive.

Bon Habi - meaning Wild Grass & Forests, is a spanking new Jungle Lodge with a good ambience and extensive grounds. The jungle lodge is well located near the main entrance gate of the Central range at Kohora. The lodge provides accomodation in 12 spacious twin bedded large airy cottages - complete with modern ensuite bathrooms, at value prices.

Experienced staff and chef makes for the best dining experience in Kaziranga. The resort provided reliable bookings, and arrangements for birding and wild life viewing with experienced and knowledgable guides. Folk dances and visits to tea gardens can be arranged. Transport is provided on request from Guwahati and Jorhat airports and to other locations at competitive rates.

Nameri Eco Camp

Nameri Eco CampNameri Eco CampLocated at Potasali 38 Kms from Tezpur the Nameri Eco Camp is a group of large tents with thatch covering on the banks of the Jai-Bhoroli river, the Nameri Eco Camp. The site is picturesque, on the banks of the Jai-Bhoroli River. Each tent is suitably furnished and separate modern toilets and bath rooms are available. The open dining gazebo serves meals. The adjoining Nameri National Park, with its moist deciduous forests, cane and bamboo brakes and strips of open grassland is habitat for more than 300 species of birds.
