Ramgarh : The Bungalows

In the foothills of the Himalayas, The Old Bungalow 1830, and The Writer's  Bungalow - 1860, are located in the fruit basket of the Kumaon region. These heritage structures once housed the British and Indian officers as well as their wives who traveled on horseback and palanquins.

Many writers and thinkers have been drawn to the beauty of Ramgarh From May to September the orchards by the Writers' and Old Bungalows hang with Apricots, Plums, Peaches, Pears and Apples. Ramgarh makes an ideal base for birding.

Ranikhet: Rosemount HotelThe Bungalows have been refurnished in the old world charm of rural England. Home made biscuits and tea by the fireplaces make for memorable 19th century moments which will be missed by the times to come.

Ranikhet: Rosemount Hotel

Rosemount, Ranikhet is a heritage property set in nature. The hotel has hosted visitors to the quite hill station of Ranikhet for the last 150 years. The hotel offers rooms and cottages, with multi cuisine dining, golf, archery, angling, horse riding and nature walks. It is a good base for birding trips.

Located at Mallital at the Northern end of the town, it is Popular with birders, being within walking distance of town birding spots., the vikram Inn has elegantly furnished rooms and all facilities of an up market hotel.

Pangot is only 15 kilometers from Nainital, the drive takes just 25 minutes to get there.

The entire drive is through the forested area of Cheena Peak Range via Snow View Point and Kilbury, the main habitats for excellent birding.

One can see a variety of Himalayan species along the way such as lammergeier, Himalayan griffon, blue-winged minla, spotted & slaty-backed forktail, rufous-bellied woodpecker, rufous-bellied niltava, khalij pheasant, variety of thrushes etc. Almost 150 bird species have been recorded at Pangot and surrounding areas.

The lodge has 3 cottages with attached toilets with running hot & cold water. The main cottage is a living room as well as a bed room with a futon.
